How to Vet a Garage Door Company in Utah

Garage door work in Utah generally falls under the state's contractor licensing system, administered by the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL). 1. DOPL license lookup. Search the company at secure.utah.gov (License Lookup & Verification). Confirm active status and that the name matches your estimate.

3. Transparent pricing. A legitimate outfit quotes spring replacement with parts specified (spring size/cycles) — the garage door industry has a national problem with bait pricing and on-site inflation. A written quote before work is your defense.

Red flags

• “Lifetime warranty” springs at extreme prices — ask for cycle ratings instead of adjectives.
